Nova Recovery Center uses a variety of specialized therapies at our addiction treatment center. Our multidisciplinary treatment teams actively work to incorporate these different types of evidence-based therapies into each client’s rehab program to provide an effective, multidimensional drug and alcohol rehab experience. Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy
The primary purpose of rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) is to resolve emotional and behavioral problems. Clients attend an educational session in which they learn how to lead happier and more fulfilling lives by modifying their thought processes. Groups are facilitated by a clinical counselor who guides participants through specific life examples and open discussions about what this process looks like on an individual basis. Learn moreCreative Arts Therapy
Creative arts therapy at Nova is facilitated by our art therapist within a group setting. During these sessions, clients work to complete purposeful creative projects and homework assignments that are designed to be both fun and therapeutic. This may include making a dreamcatcher, painting a canvas, or crocheting a scarf. In working with their hands, clients learn how to use tactile stimulation as a coping skill, practice nonverbal expression, and participate in group discussions about the creative experience and what was learned from it. Learn moreMusic Group
Music group at Nova is used as an intervention to help clients understand how music produces particular feelings, memories, and even cravings for drugs and alcohol. By listening to a diverse selection of musical compositions and participating in a group discussion about them, clients will learn how to address and process the emotions they experience in a healthy way while also acknowledging the powerful influence of music in recovery. Learn moreFamily Behavior Therapy
We highly encourage family involvement throughout the recovery process. If clients chose to involve their families in their program, we use family behavior therapy to facilitate skill-based interventions focused on learning how to communicate effectively, developing standards for social interaction, creating a healthy home environment, and improving personal wellness while loved ones are away at rehab. Learn morePsychodrama
Psychodrama is a type of experiential therapy that we use to educate and inform family members about codependency, boundaries, and family dynamics. We primarily use a form of psychodrama called Family Sculpting as a part of our family workshop. Using visual demonstrations and activities involving hula hoops, clients are encouraged to take on an external view of their own relationships and discuss family challenges together in a safe space. Learn moreCognitive Behavioral Therapy
At Nova, we use some form of cognitive behavioral therapy in all aspects of treatment. This type of therapy is focused on changing thought and behavior patterns, and therefore changing the way clients feel about themselves, the people around them, and the life challenges they face. This also encourages clients to dig beneath the surface of their addiction to uncover the root causes of their addiction as well as contributing behaviors and beliefs.12-Step Facilitation Therapy
Clients at Nova are actively involved in 12-step groups throughout the entirety of their drug and alcohol rehab program. Treatment groups include awareness groups and Big Book groups which are facilitated by recovery specialists. The primary focus of 12-step facilitation therapy is acceptance, surrender, involvement in the recovery community, and continued abstinence. Learn moreContingency Management
Contingency management, a type of behavioral therapy, is more of a culture at Nova and is used throughout all aspects of addiction treatment. In drug and alcohol rehab, our multidisciplinary treatment teams continually emphasize the objectives of this therapy by rewarding good behaviors and appropriately addressing harmful behaviors. This structure provides clients with endless learning opportunities and continued personal growth.Call Us Now and Begin Healing at (512) 605-2955
